An Unsuccessful Robbery

Yesterday our house was broken into
By a thief named Mintoo
He came in the dead of the night
In the bright moonlight

He did not disturb a leaf
He was a petty thief
He crept stealthily like a cat
Which couldn't be heard even by a bat.

But just at that moment
I caught some movement
And came out of the house
Knowin that it was not a mouse

When i saw the burly thief
I knew he was after our coral reef
So i shouted loud and clear
People appeared from far and near!

He tried to make his getaway
Thru our spacious gateway
But on his way to the doorway
He was made to pay.

The thief was handed over to the sheriff
And all added to my greatest relief.
I was considered a big hero,
And not as usual as a big zero!!!
